Crazy 80s!
My phone rang, and when I answered it, I was greeted with perhaps the most excited Sharon I’d ever heard. She’d won 4 tickets to see a show at the Elizabeth Sneddon theatre. After phoning around Graham and Robyn agreed to join us, and we met at the theater for the “Crazy 80s”.
The show is put on by CentreStage, and is their own unique blend of comedy and music.
They blasted off with Roxette, and continued through everything from Duran Duran, to Madonna, the Eurhythmics, Bon Jovi and Tina Turner. The music, and band, was fantastic, and they left me wondering why our Idols are so sh!t. Congratulations to the lead man for his rendition of Aha. WOW! He sings incredibly well for someone who’s constantly constipated.
In between showing off their lycra leggings, neon socks and laces, and wild hair, we got to listen to the comedy of Mark Banks. And although he’s a comedian who hasn’t yet worked out how to laugh, I can ensure you that he is a very fun man.
The show consisted of two 1 hour sets, with a beer break in the middle. And even though I’m not a huge fan of the 80s, this really was a fantastic show that I would recommend to anyone. Just don’t take women…there bladders can’t last and hour…
