Mavela, My First Outing As An NFFC Member

Sunday was fun-day. I got up at around 5am, packed the fly fishing kit into the Paj, and headed towards ‘Maritzburg (via a coffee shop of course) to pick up Nick. And then it was off to Mavela Dam for my first ever outing on club waters, as a member.

We arrived at around 7am and were fishing by half past. The fishing proved to be tough with Nick and I landing only one Rainbow each. Having said that, that was 2 fish more than the other gents on the water managed, even with their float tube advantage. *Bwahaaa*

We left the water at around 1pm and headed into Hilton for a beer and basket at Crossways. From there I rushed home for a quick shower and headed to the Beaumont’s for a seafood dinner to celebrate my mom’s birthday.
